Thing 2: RSS Feeds
My husband uses RSS feeds all the time and I never really "understood" what they were. Now...I am one confidant, RSS knowledgeable lady! I like the idea that posts will be sent to me in one (neatly organized) place. I selected RSS feeds from the Readers Club (reviews of YA books). This would be a really neat feature for a HS library (I am not sure it would work so well in an elementary one). I also enjoyed playing with iGoogle, but felt like it could be overwhelming with all those "gadgets" to add to the page. I will try and use it to see if my wariness wears off (*giggle*).
Thing 1: Blogging
I am Suzy Sogoian, author of the famous (or soon to be famous...) blog: Sogoian's Scuttlebutt. I am the librarian (Media Specialist, teacher/librarian, what ever we are calling it these days) at Craig Elementary School in Niskayuna. This is my first and only Blog. Creating one was effortless. Really, it's just "that easy" to start a blog. My only trouble was remembering my password for my rarely used gmail account. I am looking forward to learning many new skills that will be offered in this course! :)
Hear the Crowds A 'Howling at a Great New Book!
I just finished The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place: Book II: The Hidden Gallery by MaryRose Wood. It was a magnificent sequel full of mystery, humor, adventure and (don't for get the extra dollop of) Wit! It was a "sorry honey I can't cook you dinner right now, you might as well find something yourself because this books is just too good to put down" books!
